Danny Trejo Loves Animals and Sigma Comics

April 22, 2024 – New York, NY – Sigma Comics was recently honored by a visit from legendary big screen actor Danny Trejo, the star of countless movies, including Machete. As it turns out, Danny is a true animal lover and stopped by to say hello at the Sigma Comics booth at Fan Expo Cleveland 2024.

“I was sitting alone in the booth, working on an upcoming Here Comes CALICO script, and Danny came right up and made it clear that he was a big supporter of the fight against animal abuse,” said H.H. German, Sigma Comics’ founder. “I mean, what better friend in the fight against animal abuse can you have?”

Here Comes CALICO is a hard-hitting comic book and manga series, featuring the vicious antihero, The CALICO, who stalks and viciously murders people who torture animals. The series is in very high demand, as evident by it selling out at virtually every outing, including Fan Expo Cleveland. “Had I been busy working the booth, I don’t know if Danny would have seen the booths graphics, which depict our mission, because they would’ve been obscured by all the people. But because we had sold out, there was no one at our booth, so everything was perfectly visible. He quickly saw what we were all about and came by to support our misson,” said German.

Sigma Comics’ flagship title, Here Comes CALICO, was released as a comic book in the United States in 2020, and has since sold very well at comic book and pop culture conventions all across North America. The company recently signed a distribution deal with Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. for additional reach into comic book stores worldwide.
